Marcia's genealogy report

Marcia.jpg (29649 bytes)This site is created to share pictures and genealogical information with friends and family.  It is a work in progress.

In the year 2000 I retired, left the harsh winters of Western New York, and moved onto a sailboat with my husband Fred.   Our life at sea can be seen at http://thetroubadours.tripod.com.  In 2004 we needed a sabbatical from life at sea and established a land base in Munich Germany.  Our desire was to live in the land of our ancestors, make music, learn the culture and the language.  I also planned to search for family roots.  Pictures from our German experience can be found on the same site, at http://thetroubadours.tripod.com/sabbatical_travel.htm .  I

I focused quickly on Fred's side once other family members found a place to start in Önsbach, in Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland.  My top banner is the home, then and now, of our ancestor Friedrich Doll/Anna Maria Stephan who emigrated from Germany in 1834.  Extended family includes Weber and Stephan families, also from Önsbach and surrounds.   Follow the Önsbach connection.

Additionally I am searching for the Wolf  ancestors on Marcia's side, which I believe emigrated from Hessenburg, Germany and settled in Bellevue Ohio.  Pictures and information on this family line are in the formative stages and will follow at a later date.

German names and places which contain umlauts may not be readable for all viewers.  I have created a table of names and places as they would be written with and without the umlaut, for reference purposes.
